Hey guys! For those of you that haven’t heard, my newest album, |PEOPLE|, drops next Tuesday.

You’ll notice that the album is listed at $1.00 CAD. I assure you that this is not a typo.

“Kris!” you may be saying, yelling into your computer monitor. “Why the fuck would you do that? Do you hate money?

To which, I say that on the contrary, I love money very much. It gets me things and puts foods in my food-hole.

No, I am taking part in The Platinum Project, which was started by the band Exes for Eyes (check them out, they’re amazing as fuck), in which their goal was to sell their album to reach the pre-requisite amount to attain Platinum status on their album, but since they didn't have any producers or label to answer to, they decided to sell the album for $1.00, which is apparently about what they would have made off of each album anyway.

Unfortunately, they didn't achieve Platinum, but that’s because apparently the album must be sol at a minimum of 3-something dollars to be eligible.

But FUCK THAT NOISE.

See, to me and many other musicians, the main thing is getting our sound out there. That is the most important thing. Yeah, a little money here and there is good, not gonna deny that, but really, I just want people to check it out.

——————————————————-

Now, let’s talk about this album, |PEOPLE|.

This is a concept album inspired by the people I've met, interacted with, and witnessed over the past decade.

I decided to cap the album off at 43 songs because if I wrote a song for every person that I've met, I’d probably never finish.

So basically, this is the audio representation of my life over the past 10 years.

That said, I hope you enjoy the journey through this soundscape!

You can get the album here.
(It'll be a little longer before it releases on iTunes, since the distribution company I use will most likely set the price for a lot more than $1.00. I'll let you all know when it releases on iTunes, but for now, it's only available through Bandcamp)

So, here we are in the futuristic year of 2014. Technically, that statement is true if you think about it: Half the technological advancements we take for granted today didn't even exist 10 years ago.
But, that's besides the point.

So, let's get the bad/depressing news out of the way first, ok?
Last week I went to see a neurologist to have a test done on my nerves. Apparently my pain and "tremors" have a central source, which at this point, means one of two things:
1. I have a pinched nerve in my neck, which is fucking up the electrical signals that my brain is sending to my body.
2. I have some sort of brain damage that is causing malformed signals to be sent out to the rest of my body.
My MRI scan in March will shed more light on my situation.
However, I won't be in as much pain now as I wait, since my nerve medication has been upped. I'm actually just 200mg shy of the maximum allowed daily dosage. This dosage is working for me, though, as it's brought my pain and twitching down quite a bit. Sure, I feel stoned 24/7 because of the medicine, but I'll gladly pu up with that side effect for now. :)

In good news?
2014 will be a major year for me musically. Right now I'm part of a steadily expanding project called "Northwest by Northeast", a collaboration with Jared Sample, the drummer of a band based out of Oregon called Cry Havok.
Chaokaze music will be sounding bigger and better than ever. I'm almost done writing my "TERMINALS" album, and then I begin work on |PEOPLE|, my next album. I'll be doing a LOT of music writing, which is good, because it's what I love doing.
Also, sometime this year I'm going to be starting a gameplay show, playing various games on the Xbox One. Not quite sure how that one will go yet, but fingers crossed that it'll be good. :)

With that said, happy new year, everyone! :)

So, things are a little rocky at the moment.
Those of you that know that I have wrist problems, you're one step ahead of everyone else. For those who don't know, starting in 2008, I started developing wrist problems where I could not bend or put any pressure on them without causing a sharp pain to emanate from my wrists and the backs of my hands. Of course, back then it would only last about a week at a time, and only in my right wrist. Naturally, with such a short suffering period, I didn't give it much thought. Also, before some of you make the joke I know you're going to make, don't bother. I'm left-handed, so the joke's on you. :P
Anyway, since about November 2011, it's been getting progressively worse. I'm at the point right now where the pain from bending the wrist is constant, my hands shake and lose grip. I'm actually at about 1/4 of the grip strength that I SHOULD have. The normal average for a mid-20s male is approx. 85 lbs. of pressure. My right hand puts out 20, and my left puts out 30. In other words, I can't grip worth shit.
After seeing a few doctors and going through a few tests, I'm being put on sick leave for about 3-4 months. FUN.
Sure, the time away from work will free up more time for my design/music work, but because of my damn wrists, I'm forced to take frequent breaks. So basically, my days are spent as such:
15-30 minutes at a time playing video games on the Xbox 360.
15-30 minutes at a time doing various music/design work on the computer.
At least 2 hour-long naps per day.

Along with all this, I take a few minutes here and there to do some extremely light chores. It's extremely strange to operate this way, not too mention it's probably running up the electric bill, since I don't shut down most of my devices between breaks. Hopefully I'll be able to motivate myself to go outside once in a while. I may not be an active person, but being inside for longer than 30 consecutive hours at a time does strange things to a person.
Also, as much as it hurts, I know I should do light activities with my hands every so often. After all, if you don't use it, you lose it. So the saying goes.
And no, masturbation does not count as "light activity". :P Juuuust in case anyone was thinking it.

Also, I get random jerky movements/twitches from time to time, which is definitely an annoyance. I can't even begin to tell you how frustrating it is to miss a button several times in a row on a register.

Sometime soon, I should be getting an MRI scan done. Hopefully then this half-decade of wrist problems will be over. Or I at least hope to be on the path to recovery.
